Easter Racing Carnival

Saturday 7 and Monday 9 April 2012

Located in the stunning Adelaide Hills, Oakbank Racecourse is home to jumps racing in South Australia, which combines with flat racing to make two days of thrilling racing over Easter each year. The Oakbank Racing Club has held the iconic Easter Racing Carnival since 1876 – an event which attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually and qualifies as the world’s biggest picnic race meeting.

The ‘Oakbank Experience’ is unique, offering a carnival atmosphere in breathtaking surroundings. Corporate guests and groups of families and friends can enjoy numerous trackside hospitality areas, rides and amusements, an animal petting zoo, roving entertainers and of course thrilling thoroughbred racing in an idyllic country setting.

Syndicated and small group packages

The Punters Retreat ($190 per person)

Located trackside along the home straight, this marquee offers premium views and
sumptuous catering.

Package from 11.30am - 5pm and includes:

— grazing platters on arrival
— premium buffet luncheon
— dessert / afternoon tea selection
— 5 ½ hour beverage package including a selection of Coopers beer, Yalumba sparkling, white and red wine, assorted soft drinks, tea and coffee
— admission to the racecourse and members privileges for the day
— trackside marquee with banquet style seating and shaded outdoor area
— race books (one per person), and
— TV monitors and private tote facilities.

Available Easter Saturday and Easter Monday

Young Members Marquee (available Easter Monday only) ( $130 per person)

Enjoy the fun and fashion of the World’s biggest picnic race meeting with friends in the centre of the course marquee for the young and young at heart.

Package from 10.30am - 5pm and includes:

— brunch served on arrival
— an assortment of hot and cold cocktail style food
— gourmet mini pies and pasties served in the afternoon
— eight beverage vouchers per person – selection of beer, sparkling wine, white and red wine and assorted soft drinks followed by cash bar facilities (spirits available as cash sales)
— live DJ
— bus transport to and from Oakbank Racecourse – collection from Victoria Park, Fullarton Road and returning to the Alma Hotel, Norwood at the end of the day
— admission to the racecourse and members privileges for the day
— centre of the track marquee with casual seating, cocktail tables and outdoor area, and
— TV monitors and private tote facilities.

Grandstand Corporate Boxes ( $200 per person, excluding beverages)

Located at the rear of the double-decker grandstand, this premium location offers a bird’s eye view of the winning post.

Package from 11.30am - 5pm and includes:

— grazing platters on arrival
— premium buffet luncheon
— dessert / afternoon tea selection
— admission to the racecourse and members privileges for the day
— private undercover area including tables and chairs
— your choice of beverage options 1 and 3, and
— race books (one per person), tote facilities and TV monitors.

Available Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
Minimum 12, maximum 20 guests per corporate box.

Private marquee packages

Premium Cocktail private trackside marquee ( $180 per person, excluding beverages)

Available in a private trackside location.

Package from 11.30am - 5pm and includes:

— grazing platters on arrival
— an assortment of hot and cold cocktail style food
— dessert / afternoon tea selection
— admission to the racecourse
— private marquee with a view of the track, including casual seating and a private outdoor area with umbrellas
— race books (one per person), tote facilities and TV monitors, and
— your choice of beverage options

Available Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
Minimum 50 guests.

Premium Buffet Private Trackside Marquee ($195 per person, excluding beverages)

Available in a private trackside location.

Package from 11.30am - 5pm and includes:

— grazing platters on arrival
— premium buffet luncheon
— admission to the racecourse
— private marquee with a view of the track, including banquet style seating and a private outdoor area with outdoor furniture and umbrellas
— race books (one per person)
— your choice of beverage options (see page 10), and
— TV monitors and tote facilities.

Available Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, minimum 50 guests.

Beverage Options

1. 5 ½ hour beverage package 11.30am – 5pm including a selection of beer, red and white wine, sparkling white wine and assorted soft drinks
$45 additional per person

2. Eight beverage vouchers per person – selection of beer, red and white wine, sparkling white wine and assorted soft drinks
$35 additional per person

3. Beverages billed on consumption basis or cash bar facilities

General admission

Adults: $30 per day
Pensioner Concession: $20 per day (upon presentation of card)
Family pass: $60 per day (two adults and children U/18 years)
Children 13 – 17: $10 per day
Children under 13: FREE
General car parking: FREE

Terms and Conditions

— Gates open at 9.00am on St Patrick’s Day and 7.00am on Easter meetings
— Packages commence 11.30am and conclude at 5.00pm, unless otherwise stated
— A 15% non-refundable deposit is required upon booking for all hospitality package bookings except for the Easter Monday Young Members Marquee which requires full payment upon booking. All payments are non-refundable.
— Dietary requirements must be confirmed upon booking or confirmation of final numbers
— Tickets will be provided upon receipt of full payment – minimum five working days prior to the event
— BYO beverages are not accepted in the grandstand, marquees or hospitality areas under any circumstances
— All packages are subject to availability
